NEWS & NOTES  |  PARTNERS  |  LOCATION  |   CONTACT

United Recovery Services Company (URS) was established in 1993 and in September 2006 became a part of First Technology Capital, Inc. (FTC) of Versailles, Kentucky.  FTC sells and leases new and pre-owned banking and information systems to financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.

Initially, FTC designed its SAFECHEXSM Recovery Center to meet the check processing disaster recovery requirements for banks. Over the past nine years, FTC developed an expertise in creating, maintaining, and expanding the premier transaction processing disaster recovery center in North America. FTC dramatically enhanced its recovery capabilities to include remittance processing, work space recovery, and mail processing—both inbound mail extraction and outbound mail insertion. Today FTC members represent the diverse spectrum of transaction processing facilities ranging from utility and insurance companies to mail order, credit card and banks. FTC's ongoing mission is to serve the transaction processing disaster recovery and business continuation needs of our members.

At the FTC SAFECHEXSM Recovery Center, members have access to the premier disaster recovery hot site in the nation. Transaction processing recovery at FTC provides for multiple responses. Offering both conventional and image-based high-speed solutions, FTC provides an operating environment conducive to the efficient recovery of your transaction processing needs.

The SAFECHEXSM Recovery Center is located in a 40,000 square feet single story facility in Cherry Hill, New Jersey (a residential suburb of Philadelphia) and was the first center in the United States solely dedicated to providing transaction processing disaster recovery solutions for its members. The SAFECHEXSM Recovery Center is in the center of the Boston—Washington Corridor and is twenty minutes from both the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia International Airport. The location provides convenient access to support services such as hotels, restaurants, office supplies, etc. Currently FTC supports members as nearby as three miles and as far away as Seattle, Washington.

Security is taken very seriously. The center is secured with the latest in electronic access control, internal and external digitized closed circuit television surveillance, fire and intrusion detectors, perimeter lighting, 24 hour security service and two guard stations with surveillance monitors. The hotsite is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week (24x7) with no pre-emptive rights of any kind. No member has a greater right than another.

In the event a disaster strikes the member's processing facility, operations would continue at the SAFECHEXSM Recovery Center. Designed, engineered, and managed by disaster recovery and transaction processing professionals, the SAFECHEXSM Recovery Center is equipped with all of the processing hardware and auxiliary equipment needed to meet the transaction processing requirements of our members. Members maintain total control of their work and operate with its own employees. procedures, software, schedules, etc. Rapid restoration of full production and a successful recovery are assured by periodic testing at the SAFECHEXSM Recovery Center which provides professional operations and telecommunication support as well as maintenance engineers.
